PDX Next: Expansion & Retrofit of the Portland international Airport Main Terminal

The 2 Billion dollar PDX next TCORE project is one of the most unique airport projects ever completed. Presentation will cover the existing conditions of the PDX airport built in over a dozen projects over the last 75years including the deficiencies of the existing structure for current loading. The programmatic needs for the airport moving forward along with the structural challenges with achieving these lead to several unique solutions some of which are first of their kind.

Seth Thomas, P.E., S.E., is an associate with KPFF Consulting Engineers. The Vice Chair of the ASCE 7-28 Seismic Subcommittee, Seth is also a member of the ASCE/SEI 41 Seismic Rehabilitation Committee and ASCE 7-28 Main Committee.
