OUTSTANDING ACHIEVEMENT AWARD

The Outstanding Achievement Award is presented annually to honor and celebrate the exceptional contributions of a distinguished structural engineer within the local New Mexico region, affiliated with one of our member firms. An outstanding candidate for this award embodies a multifaceted commitment to excellence. Beyond technical proficiency, they have served as a mentor, inspiring and guiding the next generation of leaders in the field. Their influence extends beyond the professional realm, as they actively contribute to the enhancement of our community and contribute to positive changes in the world around us.

To be considered for this accolade, nominees holding a NM PE License should possess a minimum of 10 years of experience in the field of structural engineering . Furthermore, the ideal recipient will have demonstrated a notable level of engagement within the structural engineering community at some point in their career, showcasing a dedication to advancing the profession. The Outstanding Achievement Award stands not only as a testament to individual excellence but also as an inspiration for aspiring engineers and a recognition of the profound impact that a seasoned professional can have on the industry, their peers, and the broader community.

The Leadership & Service Award recognizes a licensed structural engineer who has demonstrated exceptional leadership and made significant contributions to the Structural Engineers Association of New Mexico (SEANM). OUTSTANDING YOUNG PROFESSIONAL AWARD

The Outstanding Young Professional Award is an annual recognition presented to an exemplary structural engineer in the New Mexico region, affiliated with one of our member firms. SEANM aims to honor individuals who significantly impact the profession of structural engineering, our local community, and the global landscape. Nominees, holding a NM EI license and possessing 3 to 9 years of industry experience, are sought for their outstanding contributions.

This award acknowledges professional achievements while showcasing nominees as positive and relatable role models for engineers. Nominees are expected to demonstrate a commitment to service and public outreach, extending beyond technical accomplishments within the office to remarkable contributions to the engineering community and society at large.

ELIGIBILITY

Q: Who can nominate someone for an individual award?

Anyone can! This person can be your coworker, a fellow committee member, or your mentor/mentee.

Q: Must a nominee hold a professional license?

Yes. Nominees for the Outstanding Achievement Award and Leadership & Service Award must be a licensed PE or SE. Outstanding Young Professional Award does not require a PE or SE License - it requires an EI or EIT license. 

Q: Is there an age range for the Outstanding Young Professional Award recipient?

The candidate should have a minimum of 3 years in the industry and a maximum of 9 years.

Is there an age range for the Leadership & Service Award?

The candidate should have a minimum of 2 years of involvement within the board of SEANM

Q: Is there an age range for the Outstanding Achievement Award recipient?

The candidate should have a minimum of 10 years.
